Week 10 Research

For week 10 I chose the artist Luca Cervini. Luca was born in 1983 in Merate, Italy! He studied graphics at university to receive his diploma in 2003 with a specialty in advertising design. His interests are centered around photography, comics, illustrations, poetry, and cinema. His digital art is symbolist-surreal,painted, collated, and drawn all done on a computer! He has a very unique art style which is why I was drawn to his work, as it’s something that I feel brings out a lot of emotion. His work is said to express change and a deep sense of emotion. Luca says his work is “sometimes ominous, sometimes sad” which I feel this image definitely conveys. When I saw this image, I felt that I could feel more than just the ominous or sad tones he was trying to make known in the imagery. The Image I picked titled “Love” conveys more than that ominous or sad feeling that he says comes through in his work. I felt as though it gave a mysterious feeling, as well as hurt or pain being symbolized by the fire. I feel like the symbolism in his work is purposeful and it really speaks volumes. I found the layering and different textures to be really beautiful throughout this piece as well. There is a link below to his work that I found, but the text has to be  translated! His work is worth the look, I definitely enjoyed his art style and what it shows.
