Week 7 MOCA Shari Nees- Andre Marcano

This piece is called "Paper Wings" by Shari Nees. I saw her work in the daily featured art and decided to take a look at her work. At first glance, I thought this was the Bat symbol from Batman until I read the actual title. It seems like she used Photoshop to create this. She might have made a pattern with shapes, colored it, and then used a filter to add depth to the colors, then she may have upped the size of the canvas and rotated the piece 45 degrees.

Unfortunately Shari doesn’t have a page on MOCA anymore but I was able to find her LinkedIn. I found out that Sharis work is to "explore the relationships between Trompe L'oeil and surreal Abstracts." Her influencers are da Vinci and Buckminster Fuller. As a child, she was always curious to find art's limits. She also sells art on online shops and galleries.
