Week 6 Research
This week I’ve focused on the work of Lutz Baar. He is an artist from Berlin, Germany. He was born and raised in Berlin where he also was educated. His education led to a long career as a typeface designer and an art director. After though, is when his real art career started to take off. He's been a painter and photographer since 2006. I took note of his work because I specifically liked his watercolor painting style. I picked two pieces below, named "Blossom" and "The Mask". In "Blossom", there is a picture of flowers blooming. It has a distinct soft texture I appreciate. In the second, there is a picture of an indigenous mask. I like the texture in this art as well but for its roughness rather than its softness. It also reminds me of Puertorican Vejigantes, which are indigenous masks famously in the San Sebastian festivals.
