intro to computer arts

Mamata Baruah Herland, originally from Assam, India, settled in Norway in the mid-1980s, currently living in Bærum, on the outsides of Oslo. After chasing studies in natural sciences and working part-time, she changed her focus to art and design. Her educational journey included visual art studies in Australia and a Master’s degree in Fine Art from England.

She gained experience as a graphic designer at an art magazine company in Oslo before founding Mamta Gallery in Sandvika, opened by notable figures in the community. Her artistic expression primarily involves digital mediums alongside various other forms like painting, photography, digital print, and video art. Her works have gained international exposure and found places in diverse collections worldwide.

Mamata's art represents a fusion of digital creativity with spirituality and emotional depth. Her pieces transcend typical boundaries, blending the digital world with an imaginative nature, creating a realm between rationality and magic, reality and dream. She aims to inspire captivation and mysticism through her digitally-driven creations, ultimately exploring a transition from traditional rationality to a utopian dream society.

the reason why i chose to do mamata as my artist is because her art work caught my attention on the fact as i was left wondering how she created it. it also madre me wonder what exactly was i looking at in this like the mirror how its in the back round of the clouds and how there is like a person in the corner of the wall staring at the mirror it just made me very interested in this piece of work.
