Week 10: Research Assignment

For this week I chose the artist North Zhang who created this piece with Photoshop and Blender. They used Photoshop to sketch out and colorize the piece. They also used Photoshop to add lighting in the form of sun rays and reflections on the water. Then they used Blender to put in some of the windmills and the walls of the town. The piece that Zhang made was to examine the nature of a small town between some mountains and the beauty of sunlight on the various parts of the area in nature. I also believe that they are trying to convey to the viewer that the wind is an integral part in this society. I believe this because you can see this through the many windmills that are used to keep the town sustained. However I believe that Zhang is trying to convey the intricate balance of nature and how it impacts towns relying on certain aspects of nature. This can be shown through the fact that wind for this town can stop at any moment and the city can very well be in trouble as there is no new energy coming in due to the fact that there is no wind.
