Week 10 Research Assignment (Toby M)

 For this week, I decided to choose artist Jerry Downs. Downs was born in Mount Olive, Alabame and was the last of six children. He didn't start his artistic journey until he had left the Navy in the Pacific in which he had served. To start, Downs had joined the animation department of Walt Disney Studios, working under two of the famed "Five Old Men" who founded Disney Animation. Downs had worked as an animator at Disney Animation for 10 years, working for many productions. Downs had then left Disney Animation to pursue a career in fine art in 1967. He also served as the artist in residence for "Far West" magazine until 1972.

Jerry Downs (About the Artist)

I chose this picture by him because it reminded me of a horror movie "The Eye". And there was a scene where this woman had just gotted surgery on her eye and it was all foggy, like her vision was unclear. But, the eye she had allowed her to see many paranormal activity that normal people couldn't see. This is why I chose this picture because it reminded me of that. It also looks like a bunch of people talking to each other in a house.
