Week 6 Research William Lavigne
Lisle Drake lives in the Hill Country of Texas and gets inspired by the beautiful surroundings. She creates art using different materials, like drawing with pens and ink on paper or using unique methods on fabrics. She also uses a computer to make her art. Her primary tools on the computer are Photoshop, Painter, and Illustrator; she also uses a high-resolution scanner and a Wacom tablet. When embarking on a new project, Lisle carefully assesses which elements are readily available in her existing archives and which necessitate fresh creation. She may commence with traditional sketching on paper by scanning them in for new elements or opt to initiate digital work using her Wacom tablet within Painter or Illustrator. However, she might manipulate pre-existing digital files directly in Photoshop. Lisle's ideas come from her dreams, and these dreams often come back again and again over many years. Each time she has the same dream, she discovers new things. She spends much time drawing these dreams on paper or making them on the computer. She has many sketchbooks and computer files filled with these ideas and uses them to make her finished artwork. My favorite piece from her is called The Flower Of The Spirit. I like this piece because it is vibrant, and the colors pop out. In this art, we can see a flower made with many colors. There is also a cloudy, vibrant background.
This is a website where there is some of her art: https://moca.virtual.museum/drake/drake01.htm
