Week 3: Research Assignment (Peter Mc Lane)
For the third week of researching, I decided to write about Peter Mc Lane. Peter was born in Chamonix, France in 1945, although he grew up in Alsace. Peter's first love was music, in which he was also a former singer; Peter had performed with Anne-Marie Godart. They performed in the Eurovision Contest in 1972, as they represented Monaco with the song "Comme on s'aime". Then Peter discovered the program Painter, to which his passion changed to digital art. Since the end of the 1980's, Peter has been working as a digital artist and has held exhibitions all over the world. Peter's first digital art show was held in Paris in 1994. Peter states that he is influenced by Hieronymous Bosch, Tanguy, Dali, and Max Ernst. Peter is currently living in Vence, which is on the south coast of Riviera. Peter is now interested in both virtual art and old cars. As Peter states "My work is only though my imagination, no scanned images, only a white screen and using the stylus and a Wacom Tablet like a painter." To note towards Peter's accomplishments, Peter has also won the title of Grand Master of Digital Painting (from the Muséum of Computer Art) in 2010.
