Week Nine Research Assignment
The AI-generated creation I found interesting for this week shows a crashed boat on a shoreline. Tumultuous waves crash in the background, and the skies are gray with storms. I don't know if the glowing piece to the right of the ship is a lantern or flame, but it'd make more sense if it were a lantern.
I chose this piece because I attended The Sound School in New Haven for high school. This school was located beside the sea, meaning I saw boats and ships every day. I even joined the sailing team after school. Boats have been a large part of my life, so this piece and the gallery it is part of really grasped my attention.
The MOCA Director, Don Archer, most likely created these pieces, as no name was placed above the works. Don Archer simultaneously uses MOCA as an archive and gallery, constantly changing things p when he wants to. He uses an application called WOMBO Dream to create his art. WOMBO is an app you can get for free on your phone. Its initial launch and purpose were to make AI-generated NFTs, though I wonder if that is the case now.
