Week Eleven Research Assignment
This week, I chose the piece Alexander the Great by Don Archer from his Historical Faces gallery. I'm a massive fan of marble statues, as they hold some kind of humanity I cannot find in paintings. They're 3 dimensional, meaning every angle is different when you look at a sculpture. I'm in awe every time I see a statue. Alexander the Great is also a very inspiring historical figure, someone I often think of.
Don Archer is the director of the MOCA website and appears to use the site as a gallery and archive for his and others' works. He uses WOMBO Dream to create his pieces, a free application anyone can download off the app store. Its original purpose was to develop NFTs based on other people's ideas.
