Week 14 MOCA-Andre Marcano
This piece is called "Beast" created by Teun van der Zalm
Teun van der Zalm attended Utrecht School of the Arts in the Netherlands from 2004 to 2008. His area of interest was 3D computer animation. He produced a number of short films while he was a student, including "City of Lights" and "De Breuklijn". Numerous international film festivals have shown these movies. He searched for new computer technologies for the first few years following his graduation. He saw numerous chances to create his own style by doing this. He created a new method of employing digital particles during the past three years. A particle is a small, localized object that has various chemical or physical characteristics, like mass or volume. He has the ability to manipulate millions of points in three dimensions with these and other attributes. He attempts to produce digital art that has a sense of simplicity by utilizing algorithms and physics. You can isolate each point, or particle, from the others to give the painting a more realistic appearance up close (Read more here:https://moca.virtual.museum/autogallery2014/autogallery_vanderzalm/comments.htm)
