Week 12 Research Assignment

 

 

The artist I picked for this week is Titia van Bergen. When van Beugen was 26, she became very sick and was left paralyzed. Her husband bought a computer in 1999, and she learned to make fractals. From then on, she would use fractals to express herself. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004 and later passed in 2010.

    Van Beugen had a fantastic love for fractals, and her work shows it. She has many quotes that I love, one being, "I give color and shape to my feelings and emotions."

I find van Beugen's work very creative and displays exactly what she says. Her art is full of emotion and feelings while being colorful and full of shapes.
