Week 11 Research Kyle Dann

Alain Valet lives in his hometown of Arlon, Belgium. He is not only a painter but is also a poet as well. Alain has been drawing digitally now for several years. He does china ink drawings, marble painting, and wood sculpture, and even sometimes with other artists. He works both on and off the computer to create his digital artwork. Alain likes to work on many different images but starts with one source image. He then manipulates and adds elements or filters to the images. After he prints his work, Alain collages, scans, and works over the image with painting or china ink. He will then rescan and manipulate the image again. Alain will change some details in his work and make corrections along the way. He says that when he works on a piece, it will bring out new images that he has never seen or used before. He will use Photoshop mostly from Kad's Power tools and will use and will use his mouse to draw. Looking at some of his images, you can see many differences throughout the painting. It seems like they all have a purpose for being there and are all somehow connected. I like how his art is very neat and doesn't use many colors so that your eyes will pick up more objects along the way. I was fascinated with the little subtle details that he uses inside of some of the objects.
