Week Six - Research Assignment

For this week, I am posting Istvan Horkay's Persian Gymnast I. Istvan is 78 years old, and graduated at the School of Fine Arts in Budapest in 1964. It is not said what software he uses to create his works, but it is explained that he uses a collage of original drawn and painted images, appropriated masterpieces, photographs, emblems, and logos, but they are all digitally assembled. His work is made to be dark, fiercely probing, and with a culture-ridden imagination. I chose this work because it reminds me of the cover for the album Chaos A.D.(image 2), the fifth studio album by the Brazilian heavy metal band Sepultura.
