Week 9 Research Assignment - Tobias M

     For this week, I decided to do research on Ante Barisic. Barisic is a contemporary artist and has been researching digital media since 2009. He lives and works in Dubrovnik, Croatia where he creates art from the media he gathers. This is interesting because the paintings he creates are very similar to what he researches, so he is very detailed with his work. Since he is from Dubrovnik, the setting while being from Croatia, has a very vibrant art scene that is very overlooked. The city has a mix of national institutions and small private galleries that showcase some of Croatia's best modern and contemporary art. And Dubrovnik is a great place to immerse yourself in the vibrant world. 

    I chose this piece of art by Ante Barisic because it also represents a fractal. And since he makes his art very realistic to what he researches, Dubrovnik is a place where fractals are visible to people to see in my opinion. I also was interested in the detail Barasic put into this. It's not all over the place but very detailed and symmetrical since it is a fractal.
