Week 8 Research

Dolores Glover Kaufman, a Cleveland Institute of Art and Case Western Reserve University graduate, transitioned from colorful abstract art to photography in the late 1970s. She showcased her black and white photographs in various exhibitions, including the Cleveland Museum of Art's Juried May Shows. Notable exhibitions include "Parma Piece" in 1980 and "Portfolio '83" in 1983. She taught art and photography in public and private schools, eventually joining Bill Braden in a commercial photography studio. In 1995, their studio invested in a PowerMac system to enhance image control. Dolores embarked on a journey of self-learning in digital imaging, which ultimately paved the way for her to explore the creative possibilities of digital technology in her projects. I chose this piece of art because I like it a lot. When you first look, the first thing you see is the black-and-white contrast in the art. It is a simple piece, yet it has a powerful message.
