Week 8 Research

 

The artist I picked this week is Carmen Dell'Aversano. A link to her website can be found here. She is a professor at a university in Italy but enjoys making computer art when she has time. To make her pictures, she sets up objects in certain ways, photographs them, then adds finishing touches using a digital art program. She says most of her art is influenced by classical Western art and scientific imagery. She describes her art as quirky, melancholy, and madness of her own. Additionally, she is a comparative literature professor and says she visualizes all of her work before making it. Being a professor has helped her imagine and work on her art pieces.

I find her art very unique and interesting to look at. Every image has aspects to it that only an artist like Dell'Aversano would be able to come up with.
