Week 8 Research- Kyle Dann

John Hughson is a Professor Emeritus of Visual Art and New Media at the State University of New York at Fredonia. He received his BFA from Hull College of Art in England and received his MFA from Tulane University in New Orleans. His art has been exhibited across the United States and even abroad. John uses paint-and-draw applications. He says that when he uses his computer for work, he draws directly on the computer for drawing and painting. Nothing is predetermined beforehand, he likes to create art based on what comes to mind when he starts. He is able to draw from his own imagination and imagery that pops into his head. His creation process is based on quick decisions and just goes with the flow. Whatever happens when he draws just happens. He doesn't have any set plan when he starts. John is a brilliant and dark colorist, that uses lots of abstract with almost oriental lyricism. His art has almost any color that you can think of. There is so much going on in his painting that your mind can create and see objects all over the painting. I like how he uses bright colors to draw attention to different objects and different points of the painting.
