Carol Caputo

Carol Caputo is an artist who uses various techniques and materials to explore how we perceive and understand cities through art. She creates artwork by following certain rules and deliberately leaving things out, which can make her pieces emotionally intense. Her art draws viewers in, making them ponder and wander through the artwork. Caputos work connects the real world of landscapes with the abstract style of impressionism. Instead of showing the city as it is, she uses art to create a kind of dreamworld that sparks our imagination.Although Carol Caputo's art is sometimes linked to the new romantic movement because it seeks to embrace the local in our increasingly globalized world, she doesn't intentionally aim for this classification. Instead, her art naturally taps into a shared human experience and memory.

the reason I chose caputos art work to talk about was because her work didn't catch my attention at first glance. I see her work and i think to myself who would ever want to buy this or even want to even take time observing it. the thing that changed my perspective of it was the details and emphasis she puts towards this piece. this piece makes me question things like why is there a balloon that looks a lot better then its background scene. i would also know what is the theme of this art piece and where its located at because they mentioned her doing landscaping art pieces and to me this would seem like one of those. this makes me question if its a birthday party a memory she had or anything personal to her.
