Week One Assignment

 Istvan Horkay

Istvan Horkay is a Hungarian painter, printmaker and digital artist. He attended the academy of fine arts in Cracow (Poland) where he earned a Master of Fine Arts. This artist uses adobe photoshop to create his piece. He creates his art by always saving his art as a psd file in adobe photoshop and he always alters or change or rework his art as he wishes. Therefore, he creates digital arts that has been reworked hundreds of times. He adds layers and layers onto his art. He calls each layer a virtual poem. He says that each of his layers are a separate poem and that they come together as a whole. His goal is to create a new genre of digital art. He calls it “Virtual Poems”. The art he creates convey a captivating message. This message is conveyed through a dynamic interplay of compositional elements that oscillate between strict equilibrium and playful tilts, creating an engaging visual experience.
