Week 5 Research Assignment
For this week, I researched about Helga Schmitt Pullach. Helga was born in Augsburg, Germany in 1936; she's been living in Pullach since 1971. As of late 1998, Helga has taught herself the technical in's and out's and began making digital art. Her creative work was influenced by her father-in-law, Professor Otto Michael Schmitt (1904-1992). Helga states about her motivation's and themes; what she intends is to create images and if somewhere somebody likes them the way they are, then she is happy. She's interested not only in the atmosphere, the contrasting colors, and the proportions. There are also more small fragments and structures being discovered. Helga transforms, reconstructs, and regroups these different elements into brand new situations, topographies, alternated views, virtual artifacts. The artwork that MOCA shows off with Helga Schmitt Pullach is "Anagyris" and it's very abstract image with a depiction of a face in the middle, seemingly looking like it could be made of gold. The link below is Helga Schmitt Pullach's website with artwork in different tabs.
