Emma Adkins - Week 2 Assignment, Don Archer

This week, the artist that I had found interesting was Don Archer. He used multiple AI (artificial intelligence) programs to create his work. Some notable programs are Wombo Dream, a program I had used before, as well as Dall-E and Midjourney. From my experience with Wombo, I believe all Archer had to do was type a written prompt and select the type of art style he wanted the AI to create the piece in, then click create.

This piece, titled “Bodavista Sculpture”, was the one that stoed out to me the most. I enjoy neutral colors, as well as sculptures. The details and blending are mesmerizing, keeping my eyes moving rather than staying in one place. While the piece keeps the same kind of tones and colors, details do stand out, though not enough to keep your eye drawn to it.

While researching, I was unable to come up with much information on Archer. The MACO website and a Blurb page were the only sources that came up when searching his name and his art.
