Week 9 Research

Steve Bingham is a photo-based digital artist. He's currently in his late 60's living in the small town of Payson, Arizona. He has a Master of Photography from the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara, California. He owns his own photography business and has taught at the high school and college levels. The piece I picked below, "Moon over Monument Valley" shows a photograph of Monument Valley with a very clear yet fake-looking moon over it like it was pasted there. This picture is simply beautiful in my opinion. As an Arizona native, this reminds me a lot of home and I resonate a lot with that. Bingham uses lots of Photoshop as well, which you can see with the moon and some of the coloring on Monument Valley.

There is no website for Steve Bingham but here is his MOCA collection: Steve Bingham MOCA Gallery
